Scott Richardson - Senior Pastor
I serve as the Senior Pastor of ALC. This position is where the “buck” starts and stops at ALC. I must cast a vision for revival and evangelism to thrive among our congregation. No one will carry the burden of the people like the pastor does. The pastor as a shepherd to the flock under the leadership of the Great Shepherd cares for the sheep. He strives for unity, harmony, and cohesiveness to be among the members emphasizing love for God and love for one another.
There are many duties to this position that can be summed up in ministering to the needs of the people both by pulpit and one on one. This covers counseling, prayer for the sick and other various needs, teaching home Bible Studies, hospital visits, being a friend, etc.
I served in various capacities at ALC for 11 ½ years, such as Youth Pastor and Associate Pastor from January 1993 until July 2005. In 2005 I became the Senior Pastor of a church in Lebanon Junction, KY. I have remained in that position until coming back to ALC in July 2008 to become the Senior Pastor here.
Upon completion of high school in KY, I joined the United States Marine Corps Reserves. After that I attended Jackson College of Ministries in Jackson, Mississippi. I got married in Baltimore, MD on August 7, 1993 to the former Tawana McIntyre, a preacher’s daughter. We are blessed with two children (Tristan – a son and Taylor – a daughter).
Terry B. McIntyre, B. Th. - Bishop
I serve as the Bishop of ALC. This position is one that supports the Senior Pastor, and is available to assist him in pulpit ministry, counseling, hospital visits, and in any other capacity that he might call upon me to do.
From the age of 5 years old when my parents were saved, I was raised in a Pentecostal preacher’s home. At the age of 13 I repented of my sins, got baptized in Jesus’ name and received the Holy Ghost according to God’s plan in Acts 2:38. I have been at ALC from its birth in June, 1965. However, in 1969 I was a pastor in Westminster, MD for six months before I got married. My wife and I continued to pastor there until 1972, when we returned to ALC full time as Co-Pastor and Supervisor of Essex Christian Academy.
We were at ALC this time for 14 ½ years. In 1986 we were appointed missionaries to Kenya, East Africa. We remained in Kenya until 1991 when we returned to ALC to become the Senior Pastor upon the retirement of my father and mother, Elder and Sister Ralph J. McIntyre, who are founders of ALC. We have been here as Senior Pastor from 1991 until July 2008, when we moved into the position of Bishop and continue to serve in this capacity to date.
Upon completion of high school in Baltimore, MD, I attended Texas Bible College in Houston, Texas and Twin Cities University in West Monroe, Louisiana from which I hold a Bachelor of Theology degree. I got married in Spencer, West Virginia on June 12, 1970 to the former Lynda White, a preacher’s daughter. We are blessed with two children. Our daughter and her family (Tawana and Scott Richardson and our two grandchildren, Tristan and Taylor) who have been involved in a church in Kentucky that they pastor, were elected as the Senior Pastor here at ALC on April 2, 2008. Our son, Blaine, is still single and is involved here at ALC as a drummer and with the youth ministry.
Dr. Ralph J. McIntyre, D. Min. - Pastor Emeritus
After pioneering and founding the First United Pentecostal Church (which later became known as the Apostolic Life Center) in June 1965 located at 200 N. Marlyn Avenue in Baltimore (Essex), MD, I became Pastor Emeritus in September 1991.
We began this church in a house that we remodeled for church services. In 1967 we began constructing the first phase of our church building. In 1970 we again starting building and doubled our present size. In 1973 we added an upstairs for Sunday School classes and a fellowship hall. In 1991 we remodeled the auditorium by switching the platform and pews 180 degrees. God has truly blessed us, and many souls have come to know the Lord at this location for which we are thankful.
I was converted in 1953 from an alcoholic life through a miraculous vision that God gave me. I found out later that three people had been fasting for eight days and praying that God would save me. On the eighth day is when God gave me the vision and I began a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ that very night never to take another alcoholic drink. I became truly born again of the water and spirit according to Acts 2:38. God changed me completely and put real love in our home.
In 1956 I was stricken with advance stages of stomach cancer that the doctor told me that I only had six months to live. But, Praise God, without surgery or medicine God completely healed me and delivered me from this dreaded disease. In 1957 I began my ministry of the Gospel.
I am blessed with a Godly wife that loves people and has been a tremendous help meet to me in the ministry as well as with our family. I have two children: Terry, who has followed my steps into the ministry serving as a missionary to Kenya, Africa; as Senior Pastor in Westminster, MD and as Senior Pastor in Baltimore (Essex), MD; and Karen (Kitty), who has been married many years to a preacher. They have served on the evangelistic field and now are the Senior Pastors in Athens, GA.

Hazel became a member of ALC in July 1970 after being baptized in Jesus name and receiving the Holy Ghost. Some neighbors had started coming to ALC, one of which was a friend of her son. Hazel's son started attending the church, and it was through him that she began attending church faithfully. 'God has done so many great things for me', she states. 'My husband, daughter and her family are in the church and my son's family attend a church in PA. God has healed me many times, one healing was a kidney disorder. The doctor said I would need a kidney transplant or have a kidney removed and live with only one. But God said: "No you don't". This has been 30 years and I am doing fine.' To God be the Glory!
Hazel grew up in a 'Christian home' and attended a denominal church. As a young teenager, she assisted in teaching Sunday school beginner classes and Vacation Bible School.
